Hot Rods Return to 4H Center

After a year off, vintage hot rods are converging on the Evansville area.

The 46th Frog Follies is underway at the Vanderburgh 4-H Fairgrounds.

The group, E’ville Iron Street Rods Ltd., cancelled the event last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite a new COVID surge, the event is on and more than 3,000 hot rods and their owners are expected from across the country.

On its Facebook page, the street rod group said recently it continues to monitor the COVID situation but with the event being primarily outdoors and with “some social distancing”, the group believes the event will be safe.

The group said masks may be recommended in indoor areas.

Admission fees help local charities. E'ville Iron says it has donated more than $2 million since Frog Follies began in 1975.

The event also fills up area hotels and restaurants.
