Two More COVID Deaths in Southwest IN; Vanderburgh Vaccinations Approach 85,000

Two more COVID 19-related deaths are reported in southwest Indiana. 

The Indiana Department of Health recorded the 159th COVID death of the pandemic in Warrick County and the 119th fatality in Dubois County.

The agency also tallied 146 new infections in Vanderburgh County, 37 in Warrick County, 23 in Gibson County, and eight in Posey County.

Vanderburgh recorded 145 new full vaccinations, inching closer to the 85,000 mark.

The county’s positivity rate among individuals stood at 29 percent.

The number of COVID patients in the hospital slipped to 253 in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana.

Across the state, COVID-related deaths jumped by 57, while new infections topped 3,600.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded 466 new infections in the seven-county district.

The department reported no new COVID-related deaths between Friday and Monday.
