Some of the hottest weather of the summer is visiting the Tri-State late in the season.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory in effect through Thursday.
Forecasters say high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90’s with moderate humidity levels will create heat index values of 100 to 108.
You’re urged to drink plenty of fluids, take advantage of air-conditioning as much as possible, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
If you must work outdoors, you’re urged to take frequent breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
Make sure outdoor pets have plenty of fresh water.
And officials say young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
