One new fatality and nearly 50 more COVID-19 infections are reported in Vanderburgh County.
The Indiana Department of Health announced the county’s 405th death of the pandemic.
The agency also counted 49 new infections in Vanderburgh County on the Tuesday dashboard.
The county’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals jumped to more than 21 percent.
Just 70 more Vanderburgh County residents were added to the ranks of fully vaccinated but nearly 200 received their first shot of a two-shot vaccine.
Warrick County saw 16 more infections with a positivity rate of nearly 22 percent, while Gibson County added eleven infections with a positivity rate above 35 percent.
Statewide, 15 more COVID-related deaths were tallied while the daily number of new infections topped 1,000 for the first time since May.
The Green River District Health department recorded a surge of 250 new infections over the past four days in its seven-county district.
A dozen COVID patients were in the hospital.
The numbers came one day after Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear urged schools to require masks this fall.
