A grant from the Alcoa Foundation will help teach children about conservation.
The foundation has awarded a $20,000 grant to WNIN for a Conservation Station at next month’s Kids Fest.
Activities will include painting water barrels to donate to local businesses and groups interested in conserving water.
WNIN Events Director Emily Wilderman says kids will be encouraged to start their own recycling clubs, while getting hands-on experience with water conservation.
Kids Fest is set for Saturday, Aug. 21, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. outside the WNIN studios at Two Main Street in downtown Evansville.
The event is free.
