Community Watch Parties Planned for King

Twitter

Evansville's own Lilly King will swim for more gold at the Tokyo Olympics.

After an impressive performance at the Rio Olympics, the Reitz graduate is back for more in Tokyo.

Before 24 year old Lilly King became an international swimming sensation, she trained and competed at Evansville's Lloyd pool.

Now, the City of Evansville, Evansville Otters and 14 news are hosting two watch parties for the public to cheer on Evansville's "favorite daughter" as she swims in two breaststroke events.

On Monday, fans are welcome to bring lawn chairs, and blankets to Bosse Field. They can enjoy concessions and watch the race on the scoreboard. Gates open at 7pm and King's race begins a little after 9pm.

For her second race on Thursday, July 29th, fans can gather at Mosby pool to swim from 6:30 to 9pm. Olympic coverage will be played on a giant video wall with King swimming at 8:40pm.

Both events are free and open to the public.
