Four Kids Accused of Illegal Deer Hunting

File

Four juveniles from Mount Carmel are accused of more than 100 wildlife violations.

The charges follow a six-month, two-state poaching investigation.

In a release, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the juveniles were charged with committing a combined 119 wildlife violations in Indiana and Illinois during a two-year span.

The investigation determined the four illegally killed more than 20 deer in the Mt. Carmel-Gibson County area during the 2019, 2020, and 2021 deer seasons.

DNR says multiple deer were shot from trucks, shot with the aid of spotlights at night, and intentionally run over with vehicles, and then stabbed or kicked to death.

The four are charged with a wide range of misdemeanors.

Their identities were not released.
