A new COVID-19 related death is reported in Vanderburgh County.
The Indiana Department of Health recorded Vanderburgh’s 398th fatality of the pandemic on the Thursday dashboard.
It was the first local COVID-related death in recent weeks.
The agency added no new deaths in adjacent counties.
Vanderburgh saw eight new infections while its seven-day positivity rate improved to 7.6 percent.
Nearly 375 more residents were listed as fully vaccinated, pushing the local total to almost 74,000.
Across the 12-county district of southwest Indiana, 29 COVID patients were in the hospital.
Statewide, 19 new COVID-related deaths were reported in Indiana along with more than 670 new infections.
In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department added 24 infections but no new fatalities.
The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the seven-county district fell to eight.
