No New COVID Deaths in Area; Vaccinations Slowing

No new COVID-19 related deaths are reported in the Evansville area, as vaccinations slow a bit. 

The Indiana Department of Health added no new COVID-related fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties on the Wednesday dashboard.

The agency recorded 323 new vaccinations in Vanderburgh. More than 1,000 were reported last Wednesday.

Nine new COVID infections were added in the county on the latest report, while the positivity rate for individuals fell slightly to 7.9 percent.

Across southwest Indiana, 33 COVID patients were hospitalized in the 12-county region.

Statewide, ten new fatalities were added along with about 850 new infections.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported 40 new infections but no new fatalities in the seven-county district.
