Parks Foundation to Help Low-Income Swimmers

File

For the first time since 2019, Evansville City pools will be open starting June 5th. Here's information on how the community can help families enjoy some long-awaited fun in the sun.

With the official start of summer just a few weeks’ away, local pools will soon be filled with eager swimmers. But not all area children are able to afford the swimsuits, towels, and swim diapers needed to play in the pool.

That's why the Evansville Parks Foundation is holding a "Splash into Summer" donation drive. The goal is to collect items so all children can enjoy city swimming pools and race in local swimming competitions.

Items can be donated at the east and west Walmart locations on May 28th and anytime at the Department of Parks and Recreation at the CK Newsome Community Center.
