77th COVID Death Counted in Henderson; Vanderburgh Tops 65,000 Vaccinations

A new COVID19-related death is reported in Henderson County, while another 1,000 Vanderburgh County residents are fully vaccinated. 

The Green River District Health Department announced Henderson County’s 77th death of the pandemic.

The department also added 27 new infections and reported eight COVID patients in the hospital across the seven-county district of western Kentucky.

The Indiana Department of Health added 1,075 more Vanderburgh County residents to the ranks of fully vaccinated.

The new vaccinations pushed the county’s total beyond 65,500.

Meantime, no new COVID-related deaths were recorded in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties on the Wednesday dashboard.

Vanderburgh County did see 21 new infections, while the seven-day positivity rate among individuals improved slightly to 7.1 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana fell by one to 35.

Across Indiana, ten new COVID-related deaths were added along with more than 1,100 new infections.

The statewide seven-day positivity rate topped 13 percent.
