File

One of Evansville’s top employers is reporting strong earnings.

Berry Global says its second fiscal quarter results showed net sales of $3.4 billion – up 13 percent from the same quarter last year.

The Evansville-based plastics manufacturer also reported five percent organic volume growth and operating income up 17 percent to $333 million.

In a release, Berry Chairman and CEO Tom Salmon called the performance “solid,” citing adjusted earnings per share that grew by 34 percent and revenue that grew by 13 percent.

Salmon said the performance gives the company confidence to raise its fiscal year 2021 outlook.
