Vanderburgh Vaccinations Top 30 Percent; No New COVID Deaths in Area

No new COVID-19 related deaths are reported in southwest Indiana, while more than 300 vaccinations have been administered in Vanderburgh County. 

The Indiana Department of Health recorded 336 more people fully vaccinated against the coronavirus in Vanderburgh County.

The county’s number is approaching 55,000 -- more than 30 percent of the local population.

Meantime, the state agency added no new COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties, with just a few new infections on the Monday dashboard.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate did rise to 4.6 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana held at 36.

Statewide, just three new deaths were added with 770 more infections.

Indiana seven-day positivity rate rose to 5.2 percent.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded 39 new infections.

Nine COVID patients were hospitalized in the seven-county district.
