2 COVID Deaths in Area; Vaccinations Continue

New COVID 19-related deaths are reported in Vanderburgh and Daviess counties. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced Vanderburgh’s 394th death of the pandemic.

The agency also reported 16 new infections the county, with single-digit increases in surrounding counties.

The Friday dashboard showed 371 more local residents have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, pushing the county’s total above 53,500.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate held at 4.2 percent.

The number of COVID patients hospitalized across the 12-county district of southwest Indiana fell by two to 31.

Statewide, 14 new fatalities were added along with more than 1,300 new infections.

Indiana’s seven-day positivity rate ticked up to 5.1 percent.

The Green River District Health Department announced the 176th COVID-related death in Daviess County.

The seven-county district saw 37 more infections with seven patients in the hospital.
