No New COVID Deaths, Positivity Rate Down, Hospitalizations Up

For a second straight day, no new COVID-19 related deaths are reported in southwest Indiana or western Kentucky. 

The Indiana Department of Health added no new fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

The number of new infections in Vanderburgh County slipped below 20 on the Friday dashboard, while the surrounding counties were in single-digits.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate dropped to three percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana did rise by ten to 40.

Statewide, the number of COVID-related deaths climbed by 20 with more than 1.100 new infections.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District added 27 new infections but no new fatalities.

Just five COVID patients were reported hospitalized in the seven-county district.
