Encouraging COVID Numbers Continue; No New Deaths in Evansville Area

No new COVID-19 fatalities, few new infections, and increased vaccinations are reported in southwest Indiana. 

The Indiana Department of Health reported no new COVID deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

The counties also recorded single-digit infection increases, with Posey, Pike, and Spencer reporting none on the Monday dashboard.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana fell to 22, the lowest since July.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate fell to 3.3 percent, and Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke posted on Facebook that more than 35,000 residents have been fully vaccinated in the community.

Across Indiana, only one COVID-related death was added with just over 500 new infections.

The state’s positivity rate matched Vanderburgh’s at 3.3 percent.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded no new COVID-related deaths, 30 new infections, and just 5 hospitalized COVID patients in the seven-county district.
