Another Half Dozen Area COVID Deaths Recorded, Despite Low Rate of New Infections

COVID 19-related deaths continue to rise in the Evansville area, even as new infections remain low. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced two new COVID-related deaths in Warrick County, two in Gibson County, and one in Posey County.

No new fatalities were recorded in Vanderburgh County, where the pandemic death toll held at 382.

15 new COVID infections were added in Vanderburgh, with just two in Warrick and none in Posey.

A spike in cases at the Gibson County Jail was reflected on the Friday dashboard, as Gibson added 29 new infections.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana rose slightly to 32.

Statewide, 32 COVID-related deaths were recorded with less than 900 new cases.

The Green River District Health Department announced a new fatality in Daviess County, raising that county’s toll to 160.

22 new infections were added in the seven-county district.
