Henderson Schools to Go In-Person in March

File

Henderson County schools are planning to return to in-person classes next month.

Superintendent Bob Lawson says the school system plans to resume in–person instruction four days a week starting March 22nd.

Students would attend Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with Wednesdays being an e-learning day while cleaning crews sanitize school buildings.

On the school system’s website, Lawson notes the COVID-19 positivity rate for Henderson and the state of Kentucky is decreasing.

Governor Andy Beshear issued an executive order this week recommending all school districts offer or expand some form of in-person instruction beginning March 1st or seven days after staff have received their second vaccination.

Lawson says by March 22nd, all Henderson school staff who chose to take the vaccine will have received both shots.

Students and staff will continue to wear masks except when eating and drinking.

Lawson said the schools will also continue to check temperatures and conduct health screenings.
