No new COVID 19-related deaths are reported in the Evansville area.

The Indiana Department of Health announced no new fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.

One COVID-related death was added in Spencer County.

The state agency tallied just 28 new infections in Vanderburgh, but that was enough to push the county’s pandemic case total beyond 21,000.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients dropped to 78 in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana, with 41 percent of intensive care beds available.

Across Indiana, 44 new COVID-related deaths were announced and the number of statewide infections rose by more than 1,000 for the first time in several days.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded 54 new infections but no new COVID fatalities.

22 COVID patients were hospitalized in the seven-county district.
