NWS: Next Winter Storm Will Drop Less Snow on Area

File

The next winter storm moving into the Tri-State should bring less snow than Monday’s storm.

The National Weather Service is describing the new system as a “minor wintry event” for the Evansville area.

Forecasters say the bulk of the precipitation will fall Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

Less than two inches of snow is expected, but the weather service says that’s still enough to cause slippery road conditions.

Some secondary roads and side streets are still snow-covered from Monday’s storm.

The heaviest amounts from the new system are forecast in areas south and east of Evansville, including Jasper, Owensboro, and Madisonville.

Temperatures are expected to climb above freezing this weekend.

More: The Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Evansville area, in effect until 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
