WNIN's Steve Burger talked with Vanderburgh County Health Department Administrator Joe Gries about their new vaccine location and other developments.

Vanderburgh County Health Department Administrator Joe Gries says they’re switching days for their coronavirus vaccine clinics to Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. by appointment only through the ourshot.in.gov website or by calling 211.

Gries says they’re also moving to a new location in Evansville.

“For the foreseeable future,  we will be at the Old National Events Plaza because of its size.   Because we’ll be vaccinating not only people who are receiving their first dose, but also those who are coming back for their second dose.”

Gries says they’ll be able to vaccinate about eight hundred people a week at the new location.

Officials with Ascention St. Vincent say they’re giving 3,850 vaccinations per week in Evansville.

Deaconess did not have individual county vaccine counts, but say, as of Thursday, they have administered 38,204 coronavirus vaccine doses in their entire system since they began in mid-December. A spokesperson said that Deaconess had administered more coroanvirus vaccine than any other hospital system in Indiana.
