Two new COVID 19-related deaths are reported in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties, even as new infections and hospitalizations slow.
The Indiana Department of Health raised Vanderburgh’s death toll to 349 and Warrick’s to 134.
The agency reported just 33 new COVID infections in Vanderburgh County and 16 in Warrick County.
No new COVID-related fatalities were recorded in Posey or Gibson counties, with single-digit new infections and each county.
136 COVID patients were hospitalized in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana. That’s less than half the number from mid-December.
Statewide, 49 new deaths were added with about 1,500 new infections.
In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported no new COVID-related deaths but 179 new infections.
26 COVID patients were hospitalized in the seven-county district.
