2 New COVID Deaths in Vanderburgh; Infections, Hospitalizations Down

Two more COVID 19-related deaths are reported in Vanderburgh County. 

The Indiana Department of Health raised the county’s death toll to 263.

No new COVID-related deaths were added in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.

For a third straight day, Vanderburgh County avoided a triple-digit increase in new infections, with 50.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana continued to fall, down eight to 136 in the 12-county region. The percentage of available intensive care beds slipped to about 32 percent.

Across Indiana, the agency recorded 65 new COVID-related deaths on the Tuesday dashboard, but the number of new infections was less than 1,600.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded two new fatalities in Daviess County and one in Ohio County.

188 new infections were tallied, pushing the pandemic total in the seven-county district beyond 18,000.

29 COVID patients were in the hospital.
