Officials at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum have secured a big annual event for the half of fame.

In a release, Bluegrass Hall of Fame and Museum officials announced that starting this year, the annual Kentucky Fiddle Championships will be held at the hall of fame in Owensboro.

That will bring top fiddlers from the entire southeastern U.S. to Owensboro. In addition, there will be competitions for mandolin, guitar, bluegrass banjo and clogging. Hall of Fame executive director Chris Joslin says as events evolve post-COVID-19, they’re happy to be the new host for this one.

“We’re just happy to be the new site, bringing people from the state and really, the southeast and beyond to celebrate music that’s important to Kentucky.”

The event will be held at the new hall of fame  building on the riverfront in Owensboro on March 20th. The day before, bluegrass legend Rhonda Vincent and the Rage will perform two shows in the facility’s theater.
