With vehicles in a double line from Boeke Road to the former site of Roberts Stadium from 11am throughout the afternoon, a steady stream of volunteers handed out the items Wednesday. Lisa Vaughan is a Feed Evansville organizer.
Vaughan said, “We’re expecting to do about a thousand cars, so it is one food set per car and every food set will have four loaves of bread, a bag of potatoes, a bag of carrots, pantry items, milk and a bag of cereal.”
Those in line for the food gave reasons ranging from unemployment due to COVID and picking up items for family members and the elderly.
