COVID Death Surge Continues in Daviess County; 1 New Death in Vanderburgh

Three more COVID 19-related deaths are reported Daviess County and one more in Vanderburgh County. 

The Green River District Health Department reported the COVID death toll in Daviess County rose by three to 116.

21 COVID patients were hospitalized in the county.

The department recorded 159 new infections and 48 hospitalizations across the seven-county district.

Meantime, the Indiana Department of Health raised Vanderburgh’s COVID death toll by one to 211, along with 160 new infections.

The county’s seven-day positivity rate dipped below 17 percent.

No new COVID-related fatalities were reported in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties on the Thursday dashboard.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana fell by 16 to 241, while the percentage of available intensive care beds improved to 25 percent across the 12-county region.

Statewide, Indiana saw 40 more deaths and 4,400 new infections.

Indiana’s death toll surpassed 8,800 with another 372 considered “probable” COVID-related deaths.
