5 New COVID Deaths in SW Indiana; 5 More in Western KY

Ten more COVID 19-related deaths are reported in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced three more fatalities in Dubois County, one in Warrick County, and one in Spencer County on its Friday dashboard.

No new COVID-related deaths were reported in Vanderburgh, Posey, or Gibson counties.

Vanderburgh saw 177 new infections, pushing its pandemic total above 17,000. The county’s death toll held at 207.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients across southwest Indiana was down one to 267, with about 15 percent of intensive care beds available in the 12-county region.

Statewide, the agency reported 69 new COVID-related deaths and nearly 6,200 new infections.

Indiana’s death toll climbed above 8,500 with another 371 considered “probable” COVID-related fatalities.

The Green River District Health Department announced new deaths in Henderson, Daviess, Hancock, McLean, and Ohio counties.

The department counted 239 new infections and 42 hospitalized COVID patients in the seven-county district.
