Five new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in southwest Indiana along with three more in western Kentucky.
The Indiana Department of Health announced two new fatalities in Warrick County, and three in Dubois County on the Thursday dashboard.
Warrick’s death toll climbed to 89, while the toll in Dubois reached 65.
No new COVID-related deaths were added in Vanderburgh, Posey, or Gibson counties.
Vanderburgh did see a big jump in new infections, 280, with a seven-day positivity rate of nearly 18 percent.
Across southwest Indiana, the number of hospitalized COVID patients was up four to 268 while the percentage of available intensive care beds fell to 14.5 percent.
Statewide, the agency recorded 81 new deaths and more than 7,300 new infections.
The Green River District Health Department announced three new COVID-related fatalities in Daviess County, raising that county’s toll to 106.
The department also reported 267 new infections in the seven-county district.
