Evansville officials announced the project with the company TruVest in the 500 block of Bayard Park Drive.

Phase One of the project calls for TruVest subsidiary TruHome to rehab four dilapidated houses.

Phase Two of the project includes construction of four new homes on existing land.

Future phases would also build new homes.

The Department of Metropolitan Development, The Affordable Housing Trust Fund, and the Evansville Promise Zone are all involved in the project.

In a release, TruVest said it’s been collaborating with the community for three years, with the goal of building sustainable homes and setting a benchmark for removing obstacles that prohibit home ownership.
