The Indiana State Department of Health recorded one new fatality in Vanderburgh County and two in Warrick County on its Friday dashboard.

The agency also added 220 new COVID infections in Vanderburgh, 84 in Warrick, 62 in Gibson, and 29 in Posey County.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana fell to 256 in the 12-county region.

The percentage of available intensive care beds improved to nearly 16 percent.

Statewide, 84 new fatalities and 8,000 new infections were reported.

The Green River District Health Department recorded nearly 200 new COVID cases in its seven-county region, but no new deaths.

55 COVID patients were in the hospital.
