A COVID infection has forced the closure of a public library on Evansville’s West Side.
The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library says EVPL West has been closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
In a release, the library system said the branch on W Franklin St. will undergo a deep cleaning, with plans to reopen on Monday.
The EVPL said the employee who tested positive last worked this past Monday and the action was being taken out of “an abundance of caution.”
The EVPL said it will continue to follow best practices put forth by health officials to ensure its facilities are safe for library users and staff.
