Nut Club Half Pot Winner Stays Anonymous

An Evansville family has won the West Side Nut Club half pot.

Fall Festival Chairman Ed Dietz announced on Tuesday that officials received a call from the public accounting firm Harding Shymanski near the drawing’s deadline last week.

Shymanski said they believed they had a winner.

Dietz said it took a couple of days to validate the ticket and determine the winner.

But officials said the Evansville family that won half of the nearly $1.4 million prize has chosen to remain anonymous.

It was the second year for the wildly popular drawing. Last year’s winner also remained anonymous.

The Nut Club says the other half of the pot goes to community organizations.

The club canceled this year’s Fall Festival on W. Franklin St. due to the pandemic, but went ahead with the half pot.
