Two more COVID-related deaths are reported in Vanderburgh County, along with another four in western Kentucky.
The Indiana State Department of Health raised Vanderburgh County’s death toll to 82 in its Wednesday report.
The agency also recorded 71 new infections in the county, pushing the total since March beyond 6,900.
No new COVID-related deaths were reported in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties, but Warrick did see 41 new cases.
The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana dropped a bit to 155, with less than 18 percent of intensive care beds available in the 12-county district.
Statewide, Indiana recorded 25 new coronavirus-related deaths and more than 3,700 new infections – a single-day record.
The Green River District Health Department announced two new deaths in Hancock County, and two more in McLean County.
The seven-county district also saw 63 new infections, with 32 COVID patients in the hospital.
