Another COVID-related death is reported in Vanderburgh County, along with four fatalities in western Kentucky.
The Indiana State Department of Health announced Vanderburgh County’s 73rd death on its Friday dashboard.
The county also saw 79 new infections with a seven-day positivity rate of nearly six percent.
No new COVID-related deaths were reported in Warrick, Gibson, or Posey counties.
Across southwest Indiana, the number of COVID patients in the hospital dipped a bit to 155.
About 21 percent of intensive care beds were available in the 12-county region.
Statewide, the agency reported 26 new COVID fatalities.
The number of new infections jumped by more than 3,000 for a second straight day.
Meantime, the Green River Health District recorded four new COVID-related deaths: two from Henderson County, one from Daviess County, and another from Hancock County.
25 COVID patients were hospitalized in the seven-county district.
