The Tri-State could see a drenching Wednesday night and Thursday.
The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Flood Watch.
Forecasters say remnants of Hurricane Zeta will combine with another storm system moving in from the Southern Plains.
They say the combined system will bring widespread rain showers, with the heaviest rainfall expected Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.
The weather service says rainfall totals of 3.5 to 4 inches are possible in the watch area.
Forecasters warn such amounts can cause flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas.
Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action if a flood warning is issued.
