The COVID death toll held steady in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky Monday, but infections continued to surge.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported 84 new COVID cases in Vanderburgh County, along with 35 in Warrick County.
The seven-day positivity rate in Vanderburgh was 5.8 percent.
No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.
The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana rose to 155, with only about 21 percent of intensive care beds available in the 12-county region.
Statewide, the agency reported 13 new COVID deaths and more than 2,000 new infections.
The Green River District Health Department reported 77 new infections but no new fatalities.
30 COVID patients were hospitalized in the seven-county district.
The district saw eleven COVID deaths last week.
