COVID Deaths, Infections Continue to Mount

New COVID–related deaths are reported in Vanderburgh, Gibson, Henderson, and Daviess counties, while infections continue to surge. 

The Indiana State Department of Health announced the 61st death in Vanderburgh and the 12th fatality in Gibson County on its Friday dashboard.

The agency added 118 new infections in Vanderburgh County, 23 in Warrick, and 15 in Gibson.

No new COVID-related deaths were reported in Warrick or Posey counties.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana was 163, with less than 21 percent of ICU beds available in the 12-county region.

Statewide, the death toll rose by 27 with more than 2,500 new infections.

The Green River District Health Department recorded the 30th COVID-related fatality in Henderson County and the 29th in Daviess County since the pandemic took off in March.

The number of COVID patients in the hospital rose to 39 in the seven-county district.
