Health officials are reporting three new COVID-related deaths in Pike County, two more in western Kentucky, and more than 90 new infections in Vanderburgh County.
The Indiana State Department of Health said Pike County’s death toll climbed to 18.
The agency also added 93 infections in Vanderburgh, pushing the county’s total since March to more than 5,700.
No new COVID-related deaths were reported in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.
The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana dipped to 164.
Statewide, 42 new fatalities were reported along with nearly 2,900 new cases on the Thursday dashboard.
Indiana’s confirmed death toll surged above 3,800. Another 234 fatalities are considered probable COVID deaths.
The Green River District Health Department reported another COVID-related fatality in Henderson County and one in Hancock County.
36 COVID patients are in the hospital in the seven-county district.
