The COVID-19 surge is forcing officials to postpone some indoor sports in Evansville.
The Parks and Recreation Department says it will postpone all adult indoor sporting events to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, starting Monday.
The postponed events will include: Indoor Volleyball, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, Table Tennis, and Adult Hockey at Swonder Ice Arena.
On its Facebook page, Parks and Rec said the safety of the participants is the number one concern.
Officials said they will continue to monitor daily COVID-19 cases in Vanderburgh County.
They say they appreciate everyone’s “understanding and patience.”
