COVID-19 has claimed two more elderly lives in Warrick County, while Vanderburgh County has set a single-day record for new infections.
Warrick County Coroner Sarah Seaton told WNIN the deaths of a 98-year-old man and a 100-year-old woman were COVID-related.
They were both residents of Woodmont Health in Boonville, where the pandemic death toll reached 12.
Meantime, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 86 new infections in Vanderburgh County on its Friday dashboard.
That pushed the County’s total since mid-March above 4,000.
No new fatalities were reported in Vanderburgh, Posey or Gibson counties.
Statewide, the agency recorded 13 new COVID deaths and nearly 1,500 new infections.
The Green River Health District reported a big increase in new cases – 82 among its seven counties.
Webster County saw a spike of 32 new infections, Daviess County reported 20, and Henderson County added 12.
No new COVID deaths were reported in the Green River District.
