COVID-19 has claimed more lives in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky.
Warrick Country Coroner Sarah Seaton says two women, one 80-years-old and the other 95 – were victims of the coronavirus.
They were both residents of Woodmont Health in Boonville.
Another elderly resident of the home died last week, after a number of residents and staff tested positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Dubois County Health Department announced its 19th COVID-related death of the pandemic on Thursday.
And the Green River District Health Department reported two new coronavirus fatalities in Daviess County, raising that county’s toll to 15.
The Indiana State Department of Health recorded another 44 positive cases in Vanderburgh County, with 133 patients hospitalized.
No new deaths were recorded in Vanderburgh, Posey, or Gibson counties.
The state of Indiana reported 17 new fatalities and more than 900 new infections – one day after Governor Holcomb announced the state will ease business restrictions this weekend.
The state’s mask mandate will continue, and officials continue to stress social distancing and frequent hand-washing.
