Vanderburgh COVID Death Toll Up to 30; Case Surge Continues

Vanderburgh County’s COVID death toll has reached 30. 

The Indiana State Department of Health announced the fatality on its Monday dashboard.

It’s the sixth COVID-related death in Vanderburgh County in less than a week.

The county’s surge in positive cases also continued with 42 new infections. 70 new cases were reported Sunday.

The percentage of infected Vanderburgh County residents under the age of 20 held at just below 15 percent. That number began rising when students returned to schools.

No new deaths were reported in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties on Monday, but Warrick did see an increase of 29 new cases.

Statewide, the agency recorded seven new fatalities and more than 500 new cases.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported 36 new infections – 14 of them in Henderson County and another 14 in Daviess County.

No new COVID-related deaths were reported in the seven-county district.
