Dozens of people gathered in an Evansville park on Saturday -- one day after the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg.

The event in Vann Park by the group Nasty Women of Vanderburgh County was planned before Ginsburg’s death, but it became a major topic of discussion.

Local group captain Rebecca Balich told WNIN that people should contact their U.S. Senators regarding a replacement on the high court…

"Call Braun and Young and anyone else -- Mitt Romney --  anyone we can to implore that they vote to wait to fill her seat until after the election is over."

President Trump plans to announce a female nominee for the Supreme Court this week, and U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is promising a vote as soon as possible.

The Nasty Women of Vanderburgh County is an offshoot of a statewide organization that refers to a term President Trump has used against some female opponents.

The local group boasts about 1,100 members on its Facebook page.
