Evansville water customers will soon see a change in their water bills.
The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility says starting October 15th, the way customers are billed for water usage will be changed from 1,000 gallon units to 100 gallons.
In a release, the utility said the change to a smaller unit of measure will more precisely reflect the amount of water used on monthly billing statements.
The utility said the change will mean more consistent billing from month-to-month, less fluctuation in the monthly amount due, and billing statements that are easier to understand.
Water and Sewer officials said the change is in response to customers who have called for a better billing system.
Officials recently said water bills will increase in 2021, but sewer fees will hold steady.
