Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin has recovered from COVID-19.
On his Facebook page, Bolin said he emerged from his basement last week after the illness put him in what he jokingly called “house arrest.”
Bolin said he developed a head cold more than two weeks ago and got a fever.
Two days later, he tested for COVID-19 and the results came back positive.
The chief said he never had any breathing issues, but did have severe headaches.
Bolin said he would wake up with the headaches and they lingered until mid-afternoon for about five days.
The chief said he was able to escape to his backyard in the evenings, before he recovered.
Bolin has returned to his post at police headquarters.
