Vanderburgh COVID Death Toll Rises to 17

For the second day in a row, Vanderburgh County has recorded a new coronavirus-related death. 

In its Wednesday report, the Indiana State Department of Health announced the county’s 17th COVID-19 death since mid-March.

The agency also reported 18 new infections in Vanderburgh County – raising the total to 2,240 -- while the local seven-day positivity rate dipped to 8.5 percent.

No new fatalities were recorded in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.

Statewide, 14 new COVID-related deaths were reported along with just over 500 new cases, and a seven-day positivity rate of 7.7 percent.

The Green River District Health Department reported 21 new cases in its seven-county region – eleven of them in Daviess County.

No new fatalities were reported in the Green River District.
