WNIN's COVID-19 update continues with three organizations leading relief efforts in the community.
In this segment, WNIN’s Steve Burger talked with the organization at the center of providing rental and utility assistance to local residents affected by the pandemic. Aurora of Evansville executive director Zac Heronemus gives us this update.
One group that didn’t exist before the pandemic is getting a lot of credit for raising, and addressing the issue of food insecurity.
The Feed Evansville Coalition was formed initially to provide lunches for school children when the schools shut down in March. Since then, the coalition has grown and is putting the spotlight on an important local issue. WNIN’s Steve Burger has covered the Feed Evansville movement extensively during the pandemic. He caught up with organizer Lisa Vaughn at one of the group’s food giveaways on Saturday for an update. Steve also talked with another group at the event, the Latino Collaboration Table.
