It turns out two Catholic school students in the Evansville Diocese who reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 actually tested negative.
In a statement, the Diocese said it learned of the negative tests on Tuesday and close contacts of the students were allowed to return to school.
The diocese initially reported positive tests results on Sunday.
Families were notified of the correct test results, and classes continue as scheduled.
The diocese also reported a staff member at one of the schools tested positive for the virus.
The infected staff member is under self-quarantine.
The diocese declined to name the school -- or schools -- involved in the cases.
