The University of Evansville has delayed the start of its fall semester.
Earlier this summer, UE officials decided to begin August 17th -- nine days earlier than originally planned -- to accommodate a pandemic-shortened semester.
But in a release, UE now says it’s moving the start date back to August 26th due to rising COVID-19 cases.
The university says it’s working diligently to safely reopen the campus on Lincoln Avenue, and students will be asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
The last day of instruction is set for Wednesday, November 25th.
After Thanksgiving Break, students will not return to campus. Instead, final exams will be administered online, and the last day of the semester will be December 9th.
