As a young singer-guitarist in the 1980’s, Grisham led a group called the Phonz, one of the Evansville area’s first “new wave” bands.

Grisham moved to Nashville, lived along the Gulf Coast, survived Hurricane Katrina, and battled cancer for years.

He posted on his Facebook page last month that his health hadn’t been good and that he was “too weak to play music.”

Larry Grisham died at the age of 66.
